Meet...

LANDON REID

How do you know us?

Hmmm. I suppose that I was there near your beginning as a You (plural).

For everyone that is neither Erin nor Ted: I knew Erin first. Back then I was in the new knowledge for the world biz. Then, later, I came to know the walking font of irrepressible enthusiasms that is Ted. Together they found that miraculous something that they are both willing to make work. I'm honored to be able to hang out at Vassar on a non-random day in November.

Which song will get you onto the dance floor at the reception?

Toughie. Several options:

  • For Those That Like to Get Down (Deep Sunday Retro Vibe Mix) - Marques Wyatt
  • I Remember (Vocal Mix) - Deadmau5 & Kaskade
  • Percolator - Green Velvet
  • Enjoy the Silence - Depeche Mode
  • Lose Yourself to Dance - Daft Punk

ANGELO MERCADO

How do you know us?

I knew Erin first. We sprang from a single cell and were lab mates.

Which song will get you onto the dance floor at the reception?

My spirit shall dance to any song. But my body be still.

NICHOLAS BOEDECKER

How do you know us?

Well, Ted and I are actually the same person. We were seperated at birth by the fact that we were born on different days to different biological parents, but we were spiritually linked across time and space by a love of the ridiculous. Ted and I were reunited for the first time at Vassar College, where we spent two years terrorizing the local ladies, drinking anything and everything potently potable, and scavaging for discarded electronic equipment. We caused so much mayhem that I had to leave before our junior year; the college simply would not have survived another year of us together. Though we have spent much of the past decade apart - with the notable exception of his appearance as a groomsman at my wedding - Ted and I have continued to walk to the beat of the same tone deaf drummer. L'chaim!

Which song will get you onto the dance floor at the reception?

Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard. You may want to cover the eyes of small children and those weak of stomach.

How do you know us?

Once upon a time, nigh on 9 years ago, I exchanged marriage vows with a fella, name of Brad Fondak. His younger cousin Ted was in attendance at these nuptials. And now, several passes round the sun later, I am delighted that I shall be present along with the hubster, Brad of the Fondak persuation, in the joyous festivites of cousin Ted gettin' himself hitched. Verily. Woo-hoo. And low, mine own progeny, one Jerusha Fondak, will be there to herald the arrival of the bride while toting some sort of floral assemblage. Ta-dah! Welcome to the family, Erin! =)

Which song will get you onto the dance floor at the reception?

"Respect" as only Aretha Franklin sings it. Also, "I feel Good" by James Brown. Really, I will dance and dance and dance. :) Brad will waive from the table.

JOHN VORHEES

How do you know us?

I was walking along the Hudson River a number of years ago and saw this strange looking girl sitting on a bench on the side of the path. From a distance she appeared to be speaking in Latin, in her sleep. As I got closer I began to slow my pace to try to understand what I was seeing (or, to try to comprehend whatever drug I had just inadvertently consumed because seriously, who speaks Latin?). When I finally crossed her path I realized she was singing (in a most hideous voice, I might add), reciting the songs of Sophocles. In my heightened/frightened state, my first thought was she was some sort of demon (again, the Latin). I immediately began running and never looked back. Later I realized it was my cousin.

Which song will get you onto the dance floor at the reception?

I Just Wanna Dance - Space Capone
Been There, Done That - Brian Eno & John Cale
Burning Down the House - Talking Heads (live, from Stop Making Sense)
Anything by Bowie.

TOM PHELAN

How do you know us?

Met Ted and Erin at Hamilton College and enjoyed visiting with them at our place and theirs.

Which song will get you onto the dance floor at the reception?

It won't take a song, just lots of wine!
